versions with d16key

Post by CosmicD » Tue Dec 23, 2014 8:54 pm

Hello,

I kinda wonder, I upgraded to versions 1.4.0, and the old key files still work. Is that supposed to be ? With lush I had to move it to a new folder. But in the maintenance updates for silverline it said that the keys are being read from user level and not system level aswell.. Am I missing something ?

Hi,

Yes, everything is fine. Key files don't need to be updated and yes the location has been changed to user level.

Plugins try to make it gently for you during initialization - they check old key file (and .ini too) and move them to new location if possible.
So in most cases it doesn't need user's interaction.

Cheers,
Przemek

ah, perhaps it went wrong with lush, cause I needed to manually place it there and that's why I got confused :)

Hi,

LuSH-101 was the very first plug-in with d16key file extension and with all resources located in user's directory from the very beginning and we've been making other our plug-ins to work exactly that fashion since LuSH-101's release. It seems to be more logical and allows to avoid many problems with disk / folder privileges. In versions 2.x of Classic Boxes and SilverLine plug-ins also file extension for key file will be changed to d16key as well.

Kind regards,
Sebastian
