Can anyone get the Phoscyon to sound like the hardware?

Can anyone get the Phoscyon to sound like the hardware?

I've come to realize that Phoscyon really doesn't sound like the hardware.

I don't have a 303 or other hardware emulator but I have friends that do. They can turn the 303 and play any sequence dry and it comes out sounding great.
But, Phoscyon, playing dry doesn't sound as good at all.

It's a well made product and I know "software can never be hardware" but it would great if with another update the sound can be improved.

How's this?
I thought it was close.
Also there r some vids by d16 on u-tube.
It's freakish similar.
But I see where ur coming from,
it doesn't sound just like a 303 from the outset.
Personally with tweaking my home-brew software 303,
some tweaks sound close--
then do something the 303 didn't-and it sounds no-where near.
IMO the envelope adjustments r crucial.

I want it in soft too,
but maybe eventually get a 303.

I hate the sequencer though- so fiddly.

Just stick to the 6 Parameters that appear on the hardware 303 and leave the others at their default values
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jIxBWhd2 ... 80A161CDE6

Phosycon TUNING = TB-303 TUNING
Phosycon CUT OFF FREQ = TB-303 CUT OFF FREQ
Phosycon RESONANCE = TB-303 RESONANCE
Phosycon ENV. MOD = TB-303 ENV MOD
Phosycon ENV. DECAY = TB-303 DECAY
Phosycon ENV. ACCENT = TB-303 ACCENT

Keep the link button between RESONANCE and SWEEP TIME On
Keep the link button between ENV. ACCENT and ACCENT VOL. On

I appreciate the responses but the sound from the Phoscyon in these examples doesn't sound dry.
I'd like to here a dry example of the Phoscyon playing a sequence against the 303 playing a sequence and then put it over a 909.

Phoscyon doesn't sit as well in the mix. It sounds thin not "punchy (to overuse a term)

Sorry for the delay in responding.

First, I think this is a great product but I think it is lacking in the low end.
I tried different effects, EQ , compression, disortion and I can't get that biting acid sound.

Listen to the snippet below. I would LOVE IT, if someone could show me how to get that tone in Phoscyon.

Off the topic..... I'm not the biggest Audio Realism Bassline 2 fan, but I've been messing with the demo to see how it compares.
It lacks a lot of what Phoscyon has but you can get a tight bassline line out of it that sits nicely in the mix and cuts though it at the same time.
Phoscyon seems to do better in the higher range.

Maybe Phocyon needs a DevilFish mod?

as far i am concerned it is a matter of the electronica used,
(the soundcard for example)
could be i am wrong,
i was told that the typical transistors who provide (the sound) ain't being made anymore,
for the original 303
i am happy,
for the effort these people made to give us this playfull education.
thank you very much.
