@Jacek
Seing that D16 seems to be hard working on new versions of all plugs, I take the opportunity to remind you of an older request I had
Maybe you remember, a year ago we had a conversation per email about this.
I was asking for the possibility to apply the swing/shuffle not only to each second step of a 16th grid but also to each second step of a 8th grid.
You kindly gave me a way how to achieve this using 2 bars instead of one.
This helps indeed but it would be a lot much easier if with "a little button" one could simply apply the shuffle to another quantize grid than the 16th grid.
Here is my proposal:
Make a button with 5 options:
Option A
Shuffle applies to steps
2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 (this the way it works now)
Option B
Shuffle applies to steps
3, 7, 11, 15 (for a 8th note quantizing)
Option C
Shuffle applies to steps
5, 13 (for a 4er note quantizing)
Option D
Shuffle applies to steps
3, 6, 9, 12
(Using the 12 steps triplet mode, it would be a nice 8T note quantizing that would only shuffle the third note of a triplet but let the second note plays straight)
Option E
Shuffle applies to steps
5, 11 (to use in a 6/8 grid)
Except of Cubase that can do something similar (A, B and C) either offline with the quantize menu or in real time with the midi effect "Quantizer" I am not aware of a good working Drum machine that offers this function.
This added to the announced Midi Out Function would make "Nepheton" and "Drumazon" perfect (at least to me)
And it will at last stop my endless search for a good Pattern Style Sequencer for drums.
Best regards
PS I would be already very happy with option A and B only
Request for new shuffle options
Hi teacue,
i remember ofcourse - it's really a great idea. We have to do some research with such shuffle patterns. I can't promise You that it will be added in upcoming updates of Nepheton/Drumazon, but we'll add it for sure.
Maybe we'll add even a "user defined" shuffle pattern in some xml file... we'll see.
Thanks for Your shuffle examples
Kind regards,
Jacek
