lets say i have a real fat bassdrum with very long decay. booty bass style.
if i trigger the drum quickly, it stumbles over its own feet, since the first kick is still decaying and the second kicks in causing very high volume and rumble noise. in battery i just set polyphony to 1 and thats it. can this be achieved within the Nepheton?
limit polyphony to 1 for kicks with long decay
No. That's the way the original acted. The BD sound was not a discrete sine wave, but the product of an impulse fed through a self-oscillating filter. Rapid impulses would excite this lowpass filter cumulatively. Sounds like polyphony but is not. For the effect you are talking about, sample the kick and make it monophonic. This is probably why no one extended the 808 kick until '84 when beats started to become slower and less busy.
shame on yourself! ever heared a real 808 ??? typical at miami bass-like tracks when the bass goes "boom-Boom-BOOOOM" with 16th notes at steps 15-16-1 e.g.User wrote:thanks, tronic, but shame on you, d16! this feature would be essencial. ever heared of booty bass?
its not accented, its the "itself-pushing" of the analog circuit.
