Nepheton crashes all the time in Cubase 4 Universal Binary

Post by Andy » Wed Jun 27, 2007 9:53 pm

I am having a blast with Nepheton, but it crashes Cubase 4 Universal Binary way to often. I cannot work with it for more than 10 Minutes without a crash. First I thought it was another plugin or something, but now I opened up an empty C4 Window and ran Nepheton and it still crashes very often when I close it. I am a new Mac user, so I waited a little bit until I point my finger, but now I am pretty sure it`s Nepheton...

A possible crash situation:

1. Start C4
2. Open empty project
3. select Nepheton as a vst-instrument (slot 1)
4. select "Int. seq" mode
5. select "classic kit" preset
6. select "patt. write" mode
7. go to "BD" and program a basic 4/4 (oxxxoxxxoxxxoxxx)
8. fiddle around a bit with some knobs.
9. Use a little "shuffle"
10. Open and close Nepheton a couple of times and CRASH...

The scenario looks always a little different, but the crashes have one thing in common: they always happen when I close Nepheton.

I saved one of the crash reports if you need it. Just tell me what to do please... What exactly do you need? Is there also a Cubase crash report somewhere?

I forgot to say that it always happens during playback...well, I think so...

Thanks. Yeah, I am really not a 100% sure... Would you like to see the Apple crash report?

Same problem is happened even though I use Ableton live on IntelMac.

Nice to know that I`m not the only one  ! I take it easy, since it is also my fault that I did not report it during beta stage. Plus I know that D16 is a great company when it comes to customer care and they will hopefully solve the problem soon...

Edit: I`m wondering how many are using Intel Macs with Nepheton. I bet it`s a Universal Binary problem only...

Now again: I had 4 crashes in 15 Minutes, Nepheton being the only plugin in the vst-folder...

The problem is that this machine is so addictive. I love making beats with it, but it takes the fun away when you have to be prepared that it could crash every second.... Please fix this issue guys! If you need me to test a beta I will do it. I will help wherever I can...

Any news? Can you confirm that this is a Nepheton issue?
