I'm afraid nobody can help you. So you purchased a "uncanny emulation of the classic [...] original Bass Line." As such, it only does "some basses". So which part didn't you get?

so it only has a few basses, im surprised there are no patches with a wide range of sounds etc. Do you have the phosyon? Thanks for the reply

doesnt make too much sense to have 1000s of presets for this. just turn the knobs. and most important: keep them moving ... ;-)

try pitching the phoscyon up for lead sounds and down for bass sounds. trying putting a bunch next to each other for chords. experiment with the attack... the unit can produces hundreds of facinating timbres that can work in any musical genre.

while the 303 always sounds like a 303, the beauty of the original instrument was that it could always be used in new and interesting contexts.

just like any great instrument, violin, guitar, saxophone, the human voice... the ways one works with the limits of any given instrument is part of the fun in creating new music.
