Phoscyon pattern programing in piano roll FL Studio 9 help

Post by Mojo » Thu Feb 18, 2010 7:45 am

Hello, just started using Phoscyon new version 1.8.0. and experiencing few problems. In new version there's no more A = Gate, A#1 = Accent and B1 = Slide and I don't know how to apply Accent and Slide in FL Studio's piano roll now. Maybe anyone knows hot to and could help? Thank You!

Accent: use PR's velocities (you can configure the threshold velocity in Phoscyon options)
Slide: just stack two notes

Best regards

Do you mean "Accent Velocity Level" settings:

Or "Note velocity" levels in piano roll like I did them in this picture bellow:

But actually when I change levels not much happening. All notes still sound the same. And about Slide: two overlapping notes produce slide effect only with FL Studios native synths as far as I remember from FL manual. Basically with this new version of Phoscyon I'm experiencing the same problems now like I had using Audiorealism's BassLine.

Hi Mojo, you didn't notice any difference because all the notes velocities were greater than accent velocity level. With that setting, if you have a note velocity below 64 it won't be accented. As I can see in your picture you have all the notes velocities around ~100, so all of them are accented.

You don't need to use native fl studio slide notes, just overlap two normal notes and you'll hear phoscyon sliding.

Hope this helps ;)

Thanks for your reply LiquidProj3ct. How do you think which "Accent Velocity Level" option Low / Medium / High should I choose? I used to use a lot of accented notes in older Phoscyon version.

If you want a behaviour like to 1.6 select High. However I like Medium, because it's very easy know if the note is accented or it isn't. You can use very low and high velocity settings and see how FL Studio reflects it in note colours (darker of lighter green colour). Just personal taste, you can get the same results with all the values

So basically if I choose Low (32) or Mid (64) or High (96) - all notes greater respectively that 32, 64, 96 velocity gonna be accented, isn't?
