The pitch range stops for me at C4. Why does it do this? It doesn't seem to go as high as a lot of 303 tracks I've heard.

Hi,

According to original 303 manual, CV (control voltage) is about 1 to 5 Volts, with 1 Volt range octave per octave. That means with all modification You can do to the pattern original 303 can play 4 octaves, because of some slight inaccuracy of tune potentiometer, it can be even 4.5 octave. So You're right. Phoscyon's tonal range is 4 octaves long.

The impression of very high pitch can be also achieved through some types of distortions, that distrots signal a lot, adding many higher harmonics, that they dominate in spectrum.

In a sum You're right :). Jacek (DSP guy) in a next edition of Phoscyon (2.x) is going to replace fine tune knob with tunning (with +/- 1 octave range) - many our customers were asking for that. So, You'll be able to get even higher range than original 303.

Best regards,
Sebastian
