+1 SH101

Yes an SH101. but why not go a step further and add the MC202 to it as well.
I enjoyed this combo when I was just getting into music as (had a TB303 and TR606 too-did not know these thing would become classics!).

On another note with all of D16's filtering expertise another Filter (dare I say Sherman clone) for the DJ set would be nice

the virus TI can do lots of things, moog, wavestation, even tb303 and oberheim....

forget about synth like juno or virus... it's not really the style of d16. let arturia or a company like that take care of it.

from what i can see, d16 focuses on small machines from the 80's, that has been contributing to the development of the electronic music scene since is dawn. stuffs that you cant really find today, that dont have midi, that dont really have the best sound output quality in its hardware form, that you can't really tweek, that you cant integrate in your studio if you switch from hardware to software only studio (unless you get stuff like battery or nostalgia, which is sample based anyway so you cant really tweek it, aside decay, filter...) etc...

in that case the list of drum machines that were never ported to a plugin on its own is huge. and ill buy each f***in one of them if they do it

hr16, lindrumm, lin9000, dr55, sr16, the whole tr series, rhythmace cr78, kpr77 and so on... my favourite would go to a cr78 or rhythmace though

moreover just get a powercore if you want the sh101 or virus. they are excellent sounding on that platform and they dont take any cpu from your computer.

LOL, why should d16 create a synthesiser like a virus, virus is still alive and kicking and is in an ongoing production process

yes it was. i just think it would be great to have all of those machines as separate plugins as mepheton, drumazon and phoscyon. i have battery, machfive and all sort of other plugins, and even though i think they are great, i miss the feel of turning on that particular machine to get that particular sound when i had a hardware-based studio. going through gb of samples, presets and cells is slightly impersonal to my opinion, even though it allows more flexibility and creativity.

for all those years i was always asking myself why roland (or other drum machines brands) never took the step to release the plugin version of their own vintage machines instead of focusing on the toyish mc groovebox series... we had to wait for d16 to do the magic. and whatever they'll release in the next few years, i'm sure it'll be great, cos i think they got the idea of what we REALLY need.

Linn LM-1 maybe? Me I'm strictly Roland...

a lot more synths than drum machines have been ported to plugins and the success and enthusiasm for products such as nepheton or drumazon shows that there is a demand for vintage drum machines brought to the digital world.

so i can easily say 'enough synths for now i think'...

dont get me wrong, i'd be happy with any kind of synths ported to plugins, but i just think there are already so many companies and developers in that field (arturia, native, etc....).

D16 should do a port of sonic charge's microtonic:)
