TR707, 727, sampler vst

Post by 819d9c » Fri Jan 08, 2010 8:50 am

will there be a tr707 combined with 727 clone? Or maybe a AKAI MPC clone with a stepsequencer instead? then i can load 707 samples and more into the mpc clone ? thats the only thing missing after you have finnished the shioitor. i now use kontakt 3 but now i`m stucked with 32bit version of cubase while im having 8GB of RAM. In my opinion kontakt 3 also uses a lot of resources and has bad overview.

Hi,

I believe you can find some nice simple alternatives to Kontakt 3 if you dont' need all its features. And use any of our drum machines to control it via midi output (it works only for VST).

Best regards,
Sebastian

Hello everyone! I was just thinking about this 707 vst discussion and i understand the D16 team that says "on a 707 no tweakability and so will be the same using samples".. Yes is true but nothing like the fascination of a vst (or au for mac users) of a drum machine! Anyhow my idea was to incorporate in one vst a tr 707 + tr 727 with some cool feature like the tuning on 707 toms, 727 congas, the decay on the hihats of 707.. I don' t know if this will be physically possible but i m sure that peaople will really apreciate and D16 will sell a lot of copy of this too! Making a sampler only for put in it 707 samples will be a non sense don t think?

It really isn't necessary to do a 707/727 clone. They are after all just samples. Use Ableton, load the sample set into into Drum racks, use any of the D16 drum VSTs to sequence them. I have a real 707, and a full set of 727 samples. I use Audio Damage's Tattoo to sequence my 727 samples in Drum Racks. If anyone wants some nice 707 samples, i took samples of mine a year ago. I can offer them up for download.

I'm just waiting on Shioitor

TR-707 is sample based

606, 808, and 909 all do analog synthesis.

Hello,

Thanks to give your samples but the links seems to don't work here on my computer, when I click on it say "Internal server error"...

Yes, it works now. Many thanks.

Since last year I'm looking for having a 707 (that's why I have a 505) and your samples are welcome! :D

+1 for 707 + 727

Having these two in a single VSTi with the 707 style grid sequencer would be the bomb. These 2 Roland machines are very musically useful, and it makes a lot of sense to have this product to balance the D16 "dance craze" offerings.

D16: this may not seem to be the most interesting project from a synthesis standpoint, but you'd be doing the musical world a service by getting 707 + 727 immortalized in the DAW realm.
