Live Override in External Play Mode

I'm thinking about upgrading from Phoscyon to Phoscyon 2. The Live Override feature is particularly interesting. It seems I could do live slide / accent similarly to the RE-303 sequencer which I've been using live for the past few years.
Can I do Live Overrides while in External Play Mode?
