Bug?
Hi,
When using Sigmund (1.1.2) and I leave to do something else for a couple of minutes when I come back Delay Line 1 is often muted. This doesn't happen if Sigmund is in continuous use.
The only way I can 'kickstart' Line 1 into life is to copy and paste settings from Line 2,3,4 or reload my project. Changing presets does not work....Line 1's on-screen settings will update but it remains muted.
edit: after some testing - I can 'resurrect' Line 1 if I toggle Tempo Sync button or change Time values.
I'm using Live Lite 9.2.3 (Win-7) and have attached a simple project file that captures the behaviour. When it loads just press play and look at the settings for Line 1.

Re: Bug?
Hi,
Will definitely check this out. Btw. is this problem reproducible on any project? Even if you create new empty one with just Sigmund inserted on an audio track?
Thank you,
Kind regards,
Sebastian

Re: Bug?
Hi, yes it can happen on a fresh project.
I've uploaded a (very low quality ) video showing the problem....
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01V_QMUcSIo
It it not just Delay Line 1 but all of them are affected.
I've also uploaded the Live project file if that's any help.
Thanks.

Re: Bug?
Hi,
Thank you for uploading the video. So far I wasn't able to reproduce it on our machines, so I have few more questions:
- Do you use Live in 64bit or 32bit mode?
- Is the Windows 7 64bit or 32bit?
- Which variant of Sigmund have you installed (64bit or 32bit)?
- What happens in the latest Live version (9.5)? Does this issue occur?
Cheers,
Sebastian

Re: Bug?
Hi, i'm running....
Live Lite 9.2.3 32bit.
Windows 7 64bit (fully updated).
Sigmund 32bit 1.1.2.
I don't have 9.5 yet but I have tried it in 9.5b1 and behaviour is the same. I tried both MME/Direct X and ASIO in Live's audio settings and it still occurs.
I will download 64bit Live and test with 64bit Sigmund.

Re: Bug?
Now it gets weird!
The problem only occurs below 179bpm in Ableton......above 179bpm and it's ok.
Watch the video....changing Live's tempo setting actually kickstarts Sigmund back to life at 179bpm.....it's very strange.
(this test was done with 64bit Live Lite 9.5 and 64bit Sigmund)

Re: Bug?
The problem seems to be related to tempo.
With tempo-sync on the problem occurs with time signatures of 3/16 and above (4/16, 5/16....etc); 1/16 and 2/16 work OK.
With non-tempo sync the problem occurs at 252ms and above. Here's a video showing it in action....
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8w6wcArn8dI
1 - I start with 120bpm and non-sync delay at 260ms. Delay is audible.
2 - I stop playback and wait 20 seconds.
3 - I restart playback and delay is gone.
4 - I slowly lower MS value.
5 - At 252ms delay comes back to life.

Re: Bug?
Hi,
Thank you for looking into this issue some more. However I'm still unable to reproduce this on our machines, so could you do me a screenshot of your Sigmund's settings window (Processing tab)? Just need to be sure there's maybe some connection between occurrence of this problem and quality settings or Sigmund's buffer size. Thank you
Cheers,
Sebastian

Re: Bug?
I think it's all default settings - I don't remember opening the Options page.
edit: may I ask what the buffer length slider does? It doesn't seem to be in the manual.
edit2: I've just been trying it in Bitwig 8-Track 1.3.3 and problem is almost identical. In Live at 120bmp the delay line on/off crossover is 252ms, in Bitwig it's 278ms.

Re: Bug?
Hi,
Looks pretty normal, I use Sigmund using exactly the very same settings.
Btw Max Buffer Length is controls how long is the internal storage for a feedback loop per delay (in seconds). So it's certainly not the reason of this problem
I meed to check out and try to reproduce this on few more machines, maybe there's conflict with third party software or hardware.
Cheers,
Sebastian

Re: Bug?
Another thing. Could you tell me what audio interface do you use? Do you use ASIO driver? also do you have some setting in the driver allowing to release the driver in the background?
Thank you,

Re: Bug?
I don't use an interface just the laptop (Samsung RV511). I use MME/Direct X option in Live but I have tested ASIO and behaviour is similar.
This was an ASIO test this morning....
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XxxqZl-EkXI
With split channels - left 3/16 right 5/16. The right channel (5/16) is muted until I bring it down to 3/16 and it comes back to life.
I will experiment with higher latency settings in Live and see if that helps.....if you guys can't replicate it then it must be something at my end.

Re: Bug?
Hi guys! I have the same bug. Sigmund is my favorite digital delay plugin and I was always using it a lot. But earlier I didn't have this problem, it began to appear now.
When I stop the project and wait a couple of minutes it doesn't react. It occurs in both DAWs - Logic and Ableton.
How is it possible to solve this problem?

Re: Bug?
Would be interested in the situation regarding this bug. I have had to stop using this plugin due to 2 or 3 problems with it, of which I have reported most of them to d16 Group but have never been resolved. I have had a couple of saved projects, that used Sigmund, which have not opened unless I removed the Sigmund plugin from my computer first. The last time that happened (a few months ago) I decided I just couldn't trust Sigmund enough to use it. I have also had huge noise coming from Sigmund (sounds like audio buffer problems) which have nearly blown my speakers and woken my neighbours! And I think I have had the problem mentioned on this thread about delay lines being muted. I think the delay lines being muted and the huge noise that sounds like audio buffer problems could be related. Does your Sigmund audio channel, or the actual delay line channel in Sigmund itself, show that there has been any extreme audio levels? It is a real shame as I am a complete plugin junkie with a few hundred delays (I love delays!!!) and Sigmund was always my delay in my default project's fx send. The problem is that the Sigmund bugs I have come across seem to happen so randomly. Strange noises, unloadable projects etc. can happen at anytime. As I mentioned, the last time I couldn't open a project without removing Sigmund first, I decided enough was enough and haven't used it since. Got the complete d16 Group range of plugins and have found no other bugs.
