I am sorry to say, but for its so so sound Toraverb is a real CPU-Hog.
On my Intel Core Duo Macbook Pro 2 Ghz with Logic 8 it uses about 30 to 40 percent of one Core. Compared to the quality of other reverbs like Arts Acoustic, Ik Multimedia CSR, Audio Damage Eos and their low Cpu-usage,
I must say that I am a little disappointed.

Version of Toraverb available at this moment (0.9.0) is not finally optimized (it's RC version but still beta). When we release it next week it will be much faster

haha yeah i was doing a tune (it was just a simple toybox sampels enhanced with toraverb an it was taking more than 20% cpu power.

Good to know it's not the final optimization code.

Recently purchased toraverb - and I have to say that the CPU usage is insane. I run Logic 8 on an intel mac - 4 gb ram. Runs great, but when I started using toraverb on a bus, I started getting clicks and pops and very heavy CPU usage. When I remove toraverb, all is well again. Has anyone else experienced this?

One can use the technology that allows compressing of data. But at what cost? Detail? I know many who load their DAW'S up with numbers of easy on the processor reverb that do one thing well and no parameters beyond that. I have other reverbs I use but none are as flexible as Toraverb.

I suppose the post from 2011 also referred to machines that were available at that time and Toraverb back then could be heavy on CPU

I must say it's heavy on my 2010 cpu but since everything moved to 64bit only (cubase, host) i really noticed more than 1/3th improvement. I can now fully load songs without freezing and export them without cpu errors even with some heavy toraverb usage.

Imagine when I'll buy a new pc next year how light these projects are gonna be lol

Nevertheless 2010 CPU sounds quite outdated and I believe most of recently released software consumes lot of resources of your machine.

yeah, i'm just a bit weary to upgrade, this will mean a shitload of work again which I'm going to face next year because then I definitely want to upgrade.

BTW, are you guys going to go vst3 soon ?

We're not so hasty about migrating to VST3 too fast, but some of new features sounds tempting and we have several products on mind that would benefit greatly of VST3 specs (like multi audio intputs or MIDI expression). Rather saving this on special occassion than making it alternative plug-in format for all our products

don't you think the cumulative update could also have a performance benefit overal, like I use lots of toraverb and syntorus and drumcomputers ? Ofcourse you've got your own structures to follow and I respect that, just asking.
