Frequency...

Hi,

my question is, why can´t i boost the whole frequency spectrum?
or is this typical for a tube?
i want to use it mainly for drum, synth and bass sounds :)
when i use only the preamp (no low and hi cuts, tone at 10), i can see in my analyzer cuts at approx. 160Hz and 1200Hz.

my improvements/wishes are:

1. not to fix the HI CUT at 8kHz
2. bypass button for the eq section

my praise for you, NICE SOUND. i like it for example of Pianos 8)

This range of frequency is typical for guitar amps, so we decided to limit the hicut to 8kHz, but we can add Your suggestion to our Redoptor's TODO list :)

EQ bypass is really not necessary - You can set all of the gains to 0dB - that's enough.

It would be highly desirable to be able to switch the 8khz high cut off in certain situations - This would enable the use of redoptor as a mastering processor, for example ;))

Yes...

one option to use it particularly as a guitar amp and a
second option to use the tube only as tube for the whole frequency spectrum without any cuts (hi and low), only the colored sound...

would be a good solution for most diverse applications.

i were only surprised that redoptor is sold as a high quality Vintage tube Distortion emulator and not only as a tube amplifier for guitars.

I finally got my main monitors installed after repairs during last weekend (lovely to be able to hear subz again :) ) And I gotta say - Please include the lo/hi freq cut option ASAP!

I was kinda hoping to use redoptor also for beefing up some drums, and even with the low cut all the way down it's still taking all my beautiful nepheton kik subs if I turn it on..

Still, it sounds really grungy for organs etc.. but.. puhlease-- :)

Hey,

Just spoken with guys here, and we decided to make option to turn off or turn on whole preamp filter instead.

Sebastian

Awesome. This thread actually put my mind at ease, gave me a new worry, then alleviated it all at once.

I came in to the forum thinking that redopter was only meant to be used as a distortion and couldn't be used as a guitar amp with additional plugins.

Then I found out it was actually the other way around at the moment.

Then I found out that in the next update it will do both.

...Bump

Can you at least give us a year (2010?) when we can expect the update?
I know you're all working really hard with Shioitor, but still..

We're not working with Shioitor so much :)
We're fighting with Snow Leopard compatibility and GUI issues. The Apple updates their system definitely too often :/
I'm rendering additional button for this preamp bypass right now...
