Eating up to 80% CPU on my PC!!

Post by francobidanco » Tue Jun 02, 2009 12:00 pm

I know this has been documented before, but only by Mac users.

I run a PC using Cubase SX (I will be updating to 5 soon... :-p) and FruityStudio 8. In Cubase I can get 1 instance of Decimort working but it runs my CPU at a constant 80% or thereabouts. In FruityStudio I can run 1 instance of Decimort but the CPU usage is linked to the Samplerate knob. The lower the samplerate the higher the CPU, upto about 80% at the lowest samplerate. Also, in FruityStudio the CPU doesn't run high at all unless audio is running through Decimort (in Cubase the CPU runs high at all times when an instance of Decimort is active).

Any suggestions?

I've got an Intel P4 2or3.something Ghz with 2GB RAM running Windows XP SP2.

I forgot to add that, despite the problems, the plug in is amazing ;-)
