..why Devastor is so cheap. ;)

I've spent a lot more for my Sherman baby. Devastor can't beat it in the hot area but if you like this type of sound your DAW should not miss it. For absurd 29 euronics, come on, there's no reason to resist.

Well it's not nearly as complex as a Sherman Filterbank. Also, Filterbank also happens to be an analog device, so the combination of complexity + analog components + knobs, materials, etc, results in lots of $ to produce, ship, and hence buy.
Devastor has excellent, unique sound and allows very broad sound shaping possibilities with ease, and I commend D16 for the price. I think it's very fair and affordable, and other companies should take an example. Quality doesn't have to cost tons of money.

Indeed Shy - hardware is always pricey, but... for who it is a necessity? ;)
