It does, in fact. They could claim it sounds like their discontinued machine all they want, but the fact is it doesn't sound absolutely like it and no one can prove that Phoscyon is claimed to be a software version of a TB-303, because it isn't.
They could, however, claim that the interface's design is taken from their machine's.
It's all uninteresting anyway. One word: skinning.

yeah. like the, drumazon does sound like the 909. and skin was pretty close to the original, just a few things were moved around and there were some added fx :)

well, how do you think devilfish got away with it?

devilfish is a mod. not a re-creation. same reason why you could mod a honda civic and honda wouldn't care... lots of third party people doing that. but if you replicate a honda civic and call it something else, i think honda would be... peeved. and then their lawyers would be calling you...

If you faithfully recreate a Honda (ASSUMING they still build and sell the particular model! So: wrong comparison...), and call it something else and try to sell it in competition with Honda, Honda's lawyers would sure call you, not to sue but to make a deal. If your recreation is more expensive, people will buy Honda's anyway. If it is cheaper however, then Honda can enhance their profits by lowering their costs and have you produce the model for them. Any halfway decent lawyer (i.e. one that not only understands the law but also his clients' business and is able to think strategically) will then advise them not to make a fool out of themselves by suing, but try to negotiate a win-win deal (btw lawyers don't call, they write letters).

If Roland would really care about their products, they would start to produce to TR- and TB-Series again :D .

Ya with updates like being able to do midi clock and handle poly signals with out going nuts and using better caps to make the kick drum deeper.

but Roland won't produce this beast anymore

Roland can't get it (Analogue) right anymore.
As Vince 38 said they've tried with the (Digital) MC303 , and that was totally useless and not just as a 303 emulator.

But Roland would have the Possibilities to produce the Series again, and there´s a big market.Roland could sell them cheap, i don´t want to pay 600 â?? for a bad clone, and everyone would be happy. My Opinion.

Greetings,

p.s.:I thought Roland didn´t want the MC-303 as a TB-303 Rebuild.They wanted to create the "Groovebox".Who needs a Groovebox/Sampler, etc.
A Computer can do it better, quicker, easier and cheaper.

But you look like an idiot on stage, and computers are less reliable and stable , as they are not built to withstand heat, moist, shocks, etc. as well.
