Switching host mode

Post by THEFUTURE » Fri Dec 10, 2010 8:17 pm

When starting a sequence should you first choose either "host mode on or off" first?
When switching to "host mode on" I seem to have lost my sequence ....
And it also loses it's copy information when trying to copy things over.

Hi,

Nepheton is exception among our Drum Machines, because it has separate storage for Native mode and Host mode patterns. So if you make a
Native patterns and switch to Host mode, you wont be able to trigger it. It is that way because Native mode of Nepheton is based on
real 808. Each pattern in Native mode can be up to 64 steps long (combination of A,B and 1,2 parts). While in Host mode patterns can be
maximum 16 steps long.
When starting a sequence should you first choose either "host mode on or off" first?
So, this is recommended,

But...

You can copy single part (16 step) from Native mode into a Host mode pattern, but you cannot use the CTRL+Copy combination, because this
combination works along the mode (Native or Host). You have to select tracks you want to copy from single part (in Native mode) using
selector at the bottom with CTRL key pressed (it'll allow you to select more than one track). Then use Copy button. Switch to Host mode
and paste the tracks from buffer to Host mode pattern. That's it.

Note, that if you use MacOS replace "CTRL" word with "Apple command".

Best regards,
Sebastian
