Post by chimp3000 » Thu Jan 22, 2009 2:05 pm

Hi, noob here. I tried to email the contact@d16.pl address twice but email bounced back.

I have an iBook G4 running Protools 6.9.2. I want to buy Nepheton but not sure if it will work on my system.

My specs are:

CPU Speed: 1.42 GHz
Memory: 512 MB

Help aprreciated :)

Hi,

Nepheton isn't compatible with RTAS natively, if You have a VST => RTAS wrapper You should check if demo of Nepheton will work with it first.

Best regards,
Sebastian

Thanks for quick reply!

I do not have a VST-RTAS wrapper and I tried downloading the demo with no success. The demo will download to my HD but will not launch. I'm assuming there is a problem?

Where do I get the wrapper from?

Hi,

There's one wrapper I know, made by fxpansion, You should check out the demo on their web page.

Best regards,
Sebastian

Sorry I didn't see this post sooner. The d16 plugs "sort of" work with the VST-RTAS wrapper. It has never been fool-proof and will crash on a semi regular basis. I have tried it on our PTHD rigs and LE rigs. You'll get a lot of false CPU drain warnings even though CPU usage hovers around 6%.

When it runs, its a thing of beauty. Unfortunately, beauty is a fleeting thing...

Best of luck

Hi,

We finally got our RTAS SDK from Digidesign, so after releasing AU versions of our instruments, we'll start to work on RTASes. It shouldn't take to long to release them, because we've already had everything rewrittten into the programming framework I mentioned many times about. We had to do so during development of AU versions. This framework allows us to compile our plug-ins simultaneously to VST, AU and RTAS.

Cheers,
Sebastian
