With skinning option everyone will be able to make and use custom skins (even the same like previous ones).

Also by recreating original skins we had to do some things like they were in the original including some limitations. Without that, once we have free hand to make it however we want some aspects of GUI will be adopted better. And we can create even more stunning GUIs ... just need some time. This one from Drumazon is just very quick made temporary skin for some time...

Cheers,
Przemek

that makes total sense. it's always good to see the positive side of things.

maybe in the future you can inculde a section of the website where people can post their skins and/or patches/presets? that would be cool.

all the best

graham

p.s. how's the nepheton coming along?

Exactly there will be such a place in the future...

Nepheton is little delayed eg. by this trade dress mess ... but still coming ;)

I read the kvr forum and this one and i can´t belive it....
Don´t worry for the skins the most important is the sound....
The sound of your replies is exactly the same of the original machines.
In 1987 i has the original 808 (broken at 1990) when listen the future sound of 808 reply i have a best experience since 1990...
Follow your good work and dont worry for this issues.

Best regards

I hope all is well for D16. Roland should let this slide or we threaten them to re-produce the TR's and TB's mmk.

I am finding the cpu usage quite high..is this normal?/

tested on a pentium M centrino 2.13ghz 2mb cache 2gig ram

just playing back some of the in built patters spikes it to 30 or 40% cpu.

Seriously do Skins really matter when there is no AU(or RTAS for that matter) version yet? It's the sound that's important and atm it does not run in my DAW.

Just get an AU Wrapper. it works fine. I've tried it, no problems with it, but I still like VST more.

No, I will not get a wrapper. They are a hack. People have had issues with multi-instruments using the wrapper so it is no solution. VST sucks on the Mac platform. Somehow I don't beleive you have tried it and I definitely don't believe you have been problem free. I would like to be told under what OS using which DAW on which Mac you managed it if you did?
