Feature suggestions

Drumazon is amazing - here are a few additions which I would like to see:

1. A green activity LED under the red instrument selection LEDs at the top of the GUI. This would make monitoring which drum channel is active when hitting notes on the controller keyboard/pads.

2. Some per-channel distortion controls.

3. Drag and drop pattern export to the host.

4. Choice of sending drums exclusively out to seperate channels. Currently I cannot mute, say , a rimshot on the channel the VSTi is on while I have that drum routed to another seperate channel...

Thanks!

Ad 1) You're right, we thought about it too. We'll add it
Ad 2) OK but in quite longer future
Ad 3) Do you mean exporting as midi file? (we plan ot add Midi Output first)
Ad 4) Can you explain a bit more?

Cheers,
Przemek

Sure - For example in Ableton Live I put Drumazon on a MIDI channel which will sequence it. I would like each drum to have its own audio channels so I create another 11 channels as Audio tracks and route the individual outs to each. All the sounds play on the Drumazon VSTi channel as well as their own individual audio channels. It would be better to mute the routed tracks from the channel the instrument is on. The addition of a selector button to 'route to exclusive out' would be better.
This thread also deals with it: http://www.d16.pl/forum/viewtopic.php?t=244

I would like to say that overdriving or distorting the drums on a real 909 has long been a favourite technique of techno producers and should be included. It will make the Drumazon to the 909 what the Phoscyon is to the 303 - a classic emulation with the favourite tweaks added. Distortion/overdrive adds sustain and has been used to augment the more 'musical' noises you can get from a 909.
The best example is the Rimshot pad - this is used with a long decay and tuned down to a lower frequency, and you can hear it in many many seminal tracks (Energy 52 in 'Cafe Del Mar', most Octave One/Burden brothers tracks, Jeff Mills etc etc ).

Is it possible to at least increase the range of the decay on the rimshot drum in your next release so that it 'rings' a bit more? :D

Per-channel distortion / overdrive: BIG YES!

And (copied from http://www.d16.pl/forum/viewtopic.php?t=64):
(1) when holding the mouse click and moving over different steps, it selects / deselects all steps which you move over. Very handy to quickly fill or erase in the pattern sequencer, much better than clicking each step separately.
(2) using mouse right-click and left-click in the step sequencer for selecting normal or loud hits respectively. Better than clicking twice for loud hits.[/url]

copy paste from older thread:

Well...one thing. It's virtual drum synthesizer so maybe you can add some things wich are not in original instrument. Like some switch on Closed Hat (something like CUT OFF) wich will disable behaviour of closed hat cutting open hat decay. I think i dont must to explain benefit on this in therms of sound and rhytm shaping. Of course this is not case in original but since this is software emulation we(D16 in this way) can add something that isn't there in the hardware and improve possibilities Wink

Rhytm composing:
Pressing CLEAR and holding five seconds will DELETE ALL notes in selected pattern. As is now i must switch through every instrument and pressing clear button when clearing pattern. Or am i missing something? Cool

Easyer drawing of note in pattern. Press left click and hold. Move mouse above other buttons. That will enable them. As is now i must click on every button in sequencer.

So left click for drawing (as is now, but please enable moving), right click for deleting. Seems pretty logical. Something similar you can find in FL Studio pattern sequencing and Reason Redrum(wich is almost roland drum machine emulation but not even close with sound, just look and feel). They does have almost same system for pattern drawing. It is pretty fast and logical.

That is all for now. Sorry for my bad english. See ya.

Oversample switch. 2X oversampling. For even better clarity  Velocity tune. For controling velocity level/distance in drumazon sequencer betwen two same instrument.
For example bigger velocity difference in low and high CH shot.

...

ctrl CLEAR deletes all from a pattern

Drag & drop midi files would be very interesting!
(Like with the vst Izotope Phatmatik Pro you can just drag & drop a midi file straight in your sequencer just by pressing ALT & clicking on the drag&drop icon, very very cool feature!!)
And maybe pan button for (kick, snare, ......) + a couple of LFO's so you can modulate the panning, if thats possible.

For the rest DRUMAZON rocks!

+1 For the PAN... should be really useful.

+1 pan. Perhaps also surround output.

I'd like to be able to use a MIDI remote device (like the Behringer BCR2000 I have) to use the Drumazon like you would use a 909. That means I would also like to have MIDI control over (at least) instrument selection knob, pattern step 1-16 buttons, on/off buttons for patt. write, flam, tap, prev. / next, cut, copy & paste.

How about the sawtooth click in the clap.

edit: I mean being able to control the speed of the click 8)

a white noise generator, with some control buttons, like lfo->volume
lfo->pan, attack, decay..

while in 'TAP' mode, holding down ctrl when you click deletes notes

i have this feature on a few of my drum machines/sample players, i love it. it's like carving or sumting!
