CPUsage

I've noticed that the toms use a lot more processing power than the other drums. Is this the same for everyone or is it a denormal issue?

Code: Select all

pentium M 1.73 GHz XP sp 2
1 Gig ram
Ableton live 6.0.3

bass drum 2%
snare 4%
low tom 8%
mid tom 8%
high tom 8%
rim shot 2%
clap 1%
closed HH 1%
open HH 1%
crash 2%
ride 2%

all drums on 37% (last step =1, all buttons on)

plus the vst just being on consumes 2%, so all out, it uses 39%
In comparison, phoscyon uses about 6 or 7%

cubase 4 still no sync

Post by star-lite » Tue Jan 23, 2007 8:19 pm

Hi Przemek,

just wanted to add that with beta 0.9.92b, I have still no sync with cubase 4. Works only with sx3.
If I cannot play a certain part of the song in cyle with the drumazon in sync, the step sequencer is almost useless, right?
Again I want to point out that with version 0.9.9b, I could perfectly trigger the individual patterns by midi notes ... in sync with cubase 4. This was actually all I really need, so perhaps there is a way to merge those implementations??

Cheers,
Frank

@star-lite: I'll check it. Will send you special version wchich logs some output data for me to track the bug. I think that it's very small bug because we got many reports that now it plays good on C4.

I'll write in few hours a post to all beta users about patterns triggering modes. At this time we came back to the previous solution with one new feature but I want to hear all your opinions and suggestions because there is many possibilities to solve this.
Just want to give you as much flexible plugin as possible but also keep it very simple to use.

Cheers,
Przemek

Hi,

just got my copy and did some testing under cubase sx 3.1 / AMD X2 4400.

first of all: great sound and (most important) groove!
I think drumazon picked up the best parts of a 909 that can't be recreated easy
by using i.e. a sample-player and some programming skills.
good job imho!

this release seems to run pretty stable.
no problems or crashes so far.

it's great to see that there is SIMPLE "midi learn" function!
(something i still miss with phoscyn - why not use it there too?)

as always:
it takes some time to understand d16 stuff ;-)

i did not find a manuel ...

so here is some stuff i could not figger out in the first place - i.e.:

- in "patt write" mode i can't use steps 13 to 16!
how can i edit steps over 12?

anyway - after some learning curve i got a pretty fine beat going on.
mixed it with some 303 lines and had a great time playing arround ;-)

after some more testing:

it sems that the release cant handle settings to well:
after saving and loading a song in sx 3.1 all settings are lost ...
(bassdrum, hihats, claps etc.)

it's kind of hard to save them anyway.
so after starting up again sounds are changed.
could not find a way to bring them back.

edit:
uups - i should have read the "Drumazon - read before use beta version" section before posting ... :?

Don't worry. The thread you wrote about is not valid anymore. It contained also informations before first beta. I deleted it also because all should work now.

Anyway make sure you have the latest beta (0.9.92 atm).
And if you still find troubles with saving setings I'll contact with you directly via email to solve this issue.

Cheers,
Przemek

There's a bug in the individual output routing > Handclap.

Seems like the Handclap gets routed out alongside with the Rimshot and not through its own (HC) setting.

Try routing the HC to any out you like (which doesn't equal the Rimshot one) - shouldn't be able to hear anything.

I'll check it very close before release, but now i can tell You that ONLY toms have 3xOSC + 3xDiode clippers to emulate...

Hi Jacek. Just a quick question. Is it possible to get BD sound with newest beta as in earlier version. Yes i know there is greater decay in new beta with few tweaks but no mather how hard i tweak i still can not spot same sound as in from older beta(wich is very very good IMO). Can you give me few pointers where to start? Or maybe if you explain what is changed so i can start to tweak in right direction.
