which version of OSX were the AU's tested on?

Post by Scott » Sat Aug 01, 2009 6:52 pm

I have not seen any posts from D16 over the past two weeks regarding issues with the the recent AU releases. I assume this is due to all the time being spent on fixing these issues instead of responding to posts.

I would like to know what version of OSX you fellas at D16 are using to test the AU versions? If it's a matter of me upgrading to Leopard, I will gladly do so in order to fix the problems I have.

Which version of OSX do you use?

Hi,

We use here mainly Tigers, but due to technical difficulties with GUI compatibility and newer versions of MacOS and framework we use, we're forced to upgrade everything to Leopard. We're going to do that in 2 months, when we do so we'll release updated versions of our plug-ins with new GUI support as soon as possible.

Best regards,
Sebastian

Hey Sebastian, Snow Leopard is really only a month away. Hoping you can make things work well there, hopefully people will move away from tiger in a hurry, It's a > 4yo operating system and should be put to pasture .

Plugs are still not really usable here as soon as I add a second instance of a d16 plug :(

Hi,

Yes, we're aware of that fact. Snow Leopard will have a limited support for Carbon GUI engine and next version (after Snow Leopard) probably won't be supporting Carbon GUIs at all. So we have good reasons to move forward fast with updating our framework to leave Carbon on MacOS. The bad news is Ableton Live is almost completely based on Carbon, and there'll be I think next version of it very quickly to fix this problem and switch this host to Cocoa.

Best regards,
Sebastian
