crash, hat and ride - how many samples + sample process spec

Post by flex nes » Sat Feb 23, 2008 11:51 am

Hi

Is the 909 originaly playing different samples each time its triggered, if so -
how many samples. (cymbals originally multisampled)

What kind of digital converters and cables were used to capture the 909 samples?

Is the pitch/time changing on the drumazon captured from each step on the 909? (that is 3o steps?)

Does anyone have any information of the brand, type of cymbals and recording process of the 909 cymbals?

Thanks alot for your time

NO multisamples.
6 bits resolution.
@32kHz, I think.

Are you trying to remake them from scratch?

Sounds more like a lack of confidence in your own judgements. Learn to trust your ears. Such tech specs are irrelevant to the listener; only the end results count. Would you really consider avoiding use of the 909 cymbals because of some technical detail? As a control freak myself, I want to have a knob or slider directly in front of me for every parameter, but then I try to play, tweak and mix with my eyes closed.

Man if you have money for one just keep it. I just found one pretty much rare if not only one in world. It does have jomox modification.

Best wishes!

jomox mod... would that make it more valuable than 100% original?

And also I have a gut feeling in buying stuff in $ these days, but...
