Looking at the TR 808 service manual I found some Pots inside the real 808 you can change the white/pink noise levels and their amount of diffusion. The Nepheton kick's frequency is lower. The sound of the original kick is more "round". The Neph kick has a very defined Frequency. The originl 808s kick seems to have more overtone. To me it sounds more full.
