Phoscyon/Ableton Sequencing Patterns

Post by combFilter » Mon Sep 10, 2012 7:27 pm

Hi There just new here ! .

I cannot figure out how to record pattern changes in Ableton.

For example I have created two patterns in Phoscyon (Bank 1 on no.1 and no.2 of the 8 pattern pads)

I am wanting to then record the pattern changes in real time into the sequencer, I have tried pressing the pads with a mouse click and it does not record the changes, I have also tried doing it via my Controller keyboard but to no avail?

Please can anybody help as I am very sure it is something simple...

:)

Hi,

One of the lower octaves on MIDI keyboard is responsible for selecting the patterns (white keys only) in Native mode (the default one). That reflects straightforwardly what happens on a Phocyon's GUI keyboard.

(Manual, page 10 - Native mode)

For creating arrangement i advise you to use Host mode instead, the patterns are just mapped 1:1 on MIDI keyboard (each MIDI key corresponds to one pattern).

(Manual, page 12 - Host mode)

You cannot use mouse clicks for recording the bass line arrangement in Phoscyon, since the buttons representing musical keyboard on GUI are not assignable to MIDI CC events or automatable via VST/AU parameters.

Best regards,
Sebastian
