Help: PC shuts off!

Post by ozorg » Tue Dec 01, 2009 5:05 pm

Hi,

here is a very strange problem i got yesterday:
i updated all d16 to the latest version (1.4.1).
then i made a new cubase 5 template including nithonat, drumazon and nepheton. i enabled all outputs for all plug ins.
i loaded drumazon first, routed all outputs they way i wanted it.
then i loaded nepheton and did the same.
on the last step i loaded nithonat BUT after 1 or 2 minutes my system crashed in a way i never saw before: my pc (i7, win xp sp3) just went off. no blue screen no error message - it just went off. like the electricity went away! (but it did not!!!)

mhhh - after starting again i did not load all 3 plug ins in my setup and just worked with drumazon and nephtone. the problem did not happen again.

so can the combination of all 3 plug ins cause my pc to do this??

thx
oz

Hi,

Please try to reproduce it, try to insert all 3 plug-ins and fiddle them a little.

Best regards,
Sebastian

ok i know why you are saying this ... but i am a little scared now!
so i am not sure when i am brave enough to do it ...

i just wanted to know if it's even possible that a plug in can force the pc to shout down like this.
as i said before i never saw that happen and i did see some crashes before (NOT with your plugs but in general!) ...
;-)

cheers!

For me it looks like coincidence, this way only device's driver can affect the system. I haven't see such crash using plug-ins.

Best regards,
Sebastian
