i'd like to get a more thorough sales pitch on devastator since i already have a ton of distortion plug-ins...
why is something like devastator more useful than say the entire suite of distortion plugins that come with NI's Guitar Rig 3 (aside from the price difference)?
is there something that devastator does that no other plug-in on the market offers?
to my ears on the demos, it reminds me a lot of reason's scream unit. i have all your synths and drum machines and love them to death but part of me is thinking i might pass on devastator... so i'd like more info on what makes it unique and sets it apart.
twist my arm, please:)

My bet is the sound, quite simply. There are also tons of hardware distortion units that do the same as many others and maybe have minor unique features, but the sound is what counts in the end more than anything else by far, and it speaks for itself, no one can really convince you with words. When it's out, you could check out the demo and hear for yourself if it brings you anything more useful or different than the competition.
I think that for a distortion plugin, audio demos can never really be representative of what you yourself could get from it.
I just trust it to rock enough to be worth the (low) price, so I preordered it.
